He previously served on the California Appellate Project panel as appointed counsel for indigent criminal appellants.  He has also performed pro bono legal work through Bet Tzedek Legal Services.

Mike is admitted to practice in all state courts in California.  In addition, he is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Central and Eastern Districts of California and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mike is a member of the State Bar of California, the California Lawyers Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel. He is a member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, which in 2018 awarded him the designation of Certified Litigation Management Professional.  Mike previously served on the Executive Committee of the Business Law Section at the Beverly Hills Bar Association. 

Mike earned a BA in Political Science from UCLA, and a JD from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.

As the managing member of Blue Helix, LLC, Mike coordinated the analysis and patenting of a novel compressor intended for use in air conditioning applications. Mike also leads interpretive walks in the Santa Monica Mountains, previously through the Children's Nature Institute, and currently through the Topanga Canyon Docents.
